In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years..
Quotes
"When you buy something cheap and bad, the best you’re going to feel about it is when you buy it. When you buy something expensive and good, the worst you’re going to feel about it is when you buy it."—James Clear
"Whoever is happy will make others happy too." —Anne Frank
"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant." —Robert Louis Stevenson
"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." —Abraham Lincoln
"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." —Babe Ruth
"Be ready even when you aren't - most things you will never be ready for but if you show up that is a great start." — Teronie J. Donaldson (yep that's me cool right?)
Notes/Observations
“An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way.”
Qualifications are hilarious to me.
What matters isn’t whether you can memorize what books and lecturers say. What matters is whether you can think for yourself, assess the world, and execute despite the fear we all feel every day.
The smartest people talk simply. That’s why they have the largest audience.
When a topic doesn’t make sense we simply ignore it. Often those topics can change our lives but without simplicity, we’ll never find it out.
If you can master Steve Jobs's simplicity, it’s a license to print money and experience a level of freedom most people only dream of.
Now you know why online writers in the creator economy are becoming so stupidly wealthy. We’ve figured out the cheat codes to the universe: simplicity.
Take complexity. Make it simple.
Genius might be the ability to say a profound thing in a simple way – Charles Bukowski

How to Become a Tyrant is a Netflix docu-series, and narrated by Peter Dinklage.
I love history and found this documentary to be fascinating. The theme of this series shows secrets from a playbook for becoming a tyrant. Several of history's most heinous characters perfectly used the rules within the playbook. It is an eye-opening look at what power can do when in the wrong hands.
Strategy
Self Reflection
Self-Reflection is taking the time to think about, meditate on, evaluate, and give serious thought to your behaviors, thoughts, attitudes, motivations, and desires.
In a chaotic and often busy world taking the time to self-reflect is essential to personal fulfillment.
Today is fathers day so I will utilize the time to reflect on who I am, How I am affecting others positively and where I want to go next.
Book of the Week
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill audiobook
I have read this book several times and there are always valuable insights I come away with. Here are my takeaways;
Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.
The starting point of all achievement is desire.
When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal.
Set your mind on a definite goal and observe how quickly the world stands aside to let you pass.
Don’t wait. The time will never be right.
An opportunity has a sly habit of slipping in by the back door, often disguised in the form of misfortune or temporary defeat which is why so many fail to recognize the opportunity.
One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.
One of the main weaknesses of the human race is the average person’s familiarity with the word “impossible”.
If you do not see great riches in your imagination, you will never see them in your bank balance.
There is a difference between wishing for a thing and being ready to receive it. You are never ready for a thing until you believe you can acquire it.
