Notes and Observations
Now Is a Great Time to Start.
With the abundance of new technology and our interconnected world, now is the best time to start a business. Either full time or on the side. It has never been easier than now.
There is so much to learn when you bet on yourself or give yourself the challenge of creating your income source(s), as Nassim Nicholas Taleb would describe it as becoming Antifragile.
Being "fragile" in this world is only having one income source that can get shut off by the whims of a boss or tough economy. Being "antifragile" is making yourself indispensable, learning new skills, creating multiple sources of income, adapting to new environments, and providing value to others.
I've consulted with several people who have tried to start a business, and a few months later, they haven't made enough money. They decided that the business was a bad idea, so they began a new one. A few more months pass, and they are back in the same place. Nothing's happened.
But the interesting thing is they wouldn't have it any other way. The sense of a challenge and determination to fulfill a dream or calling compels them to continue, despite setbacks.
The more effort you put into your business, the more freedom it will reward you with, so put in the effort to create a company you can be proud of, whatever it is.
Think about how you can serve the world and its interests, not just your own. The world needs whatever you will create.
Create something you would be thrilled to work on from 6 a.m. to midnight - daily if need be. Commit to it for the long-haul.
If you plan to start a business, don't do it just for the sole purpose of replacing your job. Do it because you also love it. It will prove to be far more rewarding.
A small business is a fantastic way to serve and leave an impact locally as well as globally. Now is the best time to start.
Good Luck
Watched
I never saw the Godfather movies in their entirety. Either I would catch only certain parts or didn't feel like sitting through it. I decided to indulge in some great films and chose to watch parts1 & 2 (didn't see part 3 yet) and was thoroughly impressed. I can clearly understand why these movies stand the test of time.
Godfather 1
The aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.
Godfather Part 2
The early life and career of Vito Corleone in 1920s New York City is portrayed, while his son, Michael, expands and tightens his grip on the family crime syndicate.

3- Time flies twice as fast when you squander it on mindless activity. That quick moment of checking your feed or email can turn into regretted time lost.
4- Patience goes a long way. Your goals may not happen as fast as you think it might - but you still have to go after them.

Barack Obama - A Promised Land
I like reading Biographies/Memoirs of Presidents. I like to gauge a sense of their character and leadership abilities. I always leave with a profound respect for their position and for them as a human being.
Best takeaway on first listen;
"When someone asks me to describe what it feels like to be president of the united states I often think about that stretch of time spent sitting helplessly at the state dinner in Chile, contemplating the nice edge from perceived success to potential catastrophe.
Each decision I made was essentially a high stakes wager; unlike in poker where a player expects and can afford to lose a few big hands, even on the way to a winning night; A single mishap could cost life and overwhelm, both in the political press and in my own heart, whatever broader objective I might have achieved." - Barack Obama
