Observations
"You are where you are today because you stand on somebody’s shoulders. And wherever you are heading, you cannot get there by yourself. If you stand on the shoulders of others, you have a reciprocal responsibility to live your life so that others may stand on your shoulders. It’s the quid pro quo of life. We exist temporarily through what we take, but we live forever through what we give." -Lawyer and activist Vernon Jordan on the collaborative nature of life
We tend to forget this truth. There's the old saying "It takes a village to raise a child", same applies to your success - in a career or business; we are only successful because of those who have helped us. In turn, we must do our best to help others succeed.

Really good Kevin Hart interview from Patrick Bet-David.

Lean on Me is loosely based on the story of Joe Louis Clark, a real-life inner-city high school principal in Paterson, New Jersey, whose school is at risk of being taken over by the New Jersey state government unless students improve their test scores on the New Jersey Minimum Basic Skills Test.
Book of the week
Amazing book. Definitely in my top 5 this year.
It’s a tragic book about how the author prepared for his death after his doctor told him he has 3 months to live. (Due to his terminal cancer diagnosis)
It is a book about endings, but also about new beginnings, about enjoying the present and acknowledging the opportunities we have at hand to be happy. About enjoying those small perfect moments we can take advantage of while we still have them.
It is also a book about acceptance, about how to face reality and seek peace; it is about not being afraid to die, but instead being prepared for when the moment comes.
We should prepare for our death just like we try and prepare for our financial security in retirement: Gene seemed to realize that most people live their lives in an unconscious quest for money - more and more of it - and never give thought to the ultimate destination we will all have to traverse - death.
