Notes/Observations
The power of our minds to influence and even transform our emotional state cannot be underestimated. We can navigate and significantly affect our mood by engaging in specific activities.
Activities that help me are doing fun activities with the people I love, playing music that hypes me up, doing a new experience, taking a long walk, creating content, and traveling.

10 Ways to Keep Consistent in a Distracted World
Nowadays, everything that comes at you seems as if it is designed to steal your attention — well, actually it is.
Content always has some angle to get you to look at it. (Mines too — read this article to keep consistent — why not?) Now it’s all good to look, but when you get lost down a rabbit hole, it’s an entirely different ball game.
What happens when weak discipline meets a wall of distraction? You guessed it — distraction wins, and consistency suffers.
Every time I have not been consistent with a goal was due to procrastination.
When I had a task that I didn’t like, I used to force myself to enjoy it, but no matter what happened, I didn’t like it.
I came to realize that procrastination is a motivational problem.
Procrastination results from working on things that don’t engage or excite you; something you feel doesn’t intrinsically matter.
It’s easier to be consistent when you enjoy what you are doing.
Your energy tends to show when you work at a place you don’t like. Study after study shows that job unhappiness impacts your overall mental health, causing problems with sleep, anxiety, and depression.
To be realistic, there are always times when there will be things you don’t enjoy doing — and they must be done.
But it will be all the better in areas where you can do something to introduce some enjoyment. (More on that later)
Conversely, the benefits of doing what you love daily are increased motivation, productivity, a sense of accomplishment, and improved mood, which results in improved health, a new outlook, and better relationships.
Publishing content daily has been great for me; years ago, I thought it was impossible, or I had to be an expert to keep creating material for writing, videos, and other content. However, it has been relatively easy, and that’s because I like doing it.
If you set out to do work you hate, you’ll never be able to do it consistently. Yes, you can perform your tasks, but your heart won’t be 100% in it — I promise you I have been there.
With that said, here are 10 Ways to Keep Consistent in a Distracted World
Set clear goals and priorities: Understanding what you want to accomplish will help you stay focused and motivated.
Create a schedule and stick to it: Plan your day or week in advance, and set aside dedicated time for essential tasks.
Minimize distractions: Turn off notifications on your phone, close unnecessary tabs on your computer, turn off the tv, and find a quiet place to work.
Break up larger tasks into smaller ones: It can be overwhelming to tackle a big project all at once. Breaking it down into smaller, more manageable tasks can make it feel less daunting and increase your chances of staying on track.
Use a timer: Using a timer can help you stay on task and motivated by letting you see how much time you have left to work on a task.
Reward yourself: Give yourself a small reward after completing a task or reaching a milestone. This will help you stay motivated and encourage you to keep going.
Eliminate multitasking: Doing many things at once can decrease productivity, so try to focus on one task at a time.
Stay organized: Keep your work area clean and tidy, and use tools like to-do lists, calendars, and note-taking apps to stay on top of your tasks and deadlines.
Avoid Procrastination: Procrastination is the enemy of consistency. Set a goal and start working on it immediately; don’t wait for the perfect moment.
Take breaks: Short breaks can help you stay focused and refreshed throughout the day.
I hope this helps; all the best.

(I listened to the audio 4x already, which has helped me strategize my steps for 2024 so far.)
"People Buy You" by Jeb Blount is a guidebook emphasizing the importance of personal relationships in business. Blount argues that success hinges on skills or products and how well we connect with others. He highlights that building trust, showing authenticity, and genuinely caring about clients and colleagues are key factors that lead to long-term success in business.
The book serves as a reminder that breeding strong personal connections is often the secret to achieving significant results in any professional endeavor.
Here are two key points from the book:
Relationships Matter More Than Transactions: Blount argues that building genuine connections with clients and colleagues is crucial. People are more likely to buy from and work with those they trust and like on a personal level.
Authenticity and Trust: The book stresses the value of authenticity in building trust. Being genuine, transparent, and reliable fosters stronger, more enduring business relationships that lead to long-term success.
Strategy
The power of gratitude. Many underestimate the effect of gratitude; with it, gratitude makes everything we have enough.
Anytime you ever feel down and out or lost or demotivated, Write down at least three things you’re grateful for, and it will help tremendously.
