Notes/Observations
When I don’t know, I don’t know.
There is no embarrassment in not knowing. I remember hearing a teacher say:
“It’s not your fault for not knowing; it’s your fault for not wanting to know.”
There are many things I don’t know, and I am no longer afraid to admit that. I feared looking stupid for not knowing something before and tried to pretend I did.
I now find it is wiser to say I don’t know and work on figuring it out.

Book of the Week
"Willpower Doesn't Work: Discover the Hidden Keys to Success" is a book by Benjamin Hardy that emphasizes the importance of environment and context in achieving personal goals.
The author argues that relying solely on willpower is insufficient for sustained success and that creating an environment conducive to desired behaviors is vital to achieving lasting change.
Hardy explores practical strategies for shaping your environment to align with goals, making them easier to achieve.
Here are my 4 key takeaways from "Willpower Doesn’t Work."
1- **Environment Matters: The book stresses that your environment significantly influences your behavior and success. By intentionally designing your surroundings to support your goals, you can make it easier to stick to positive habits and achieve what you want. Environment is essential to the success you wish to achieve, as some settings will conflict with your goals. So, if you're going to change, change your environment.
2- Identity Shift: Hardy emphasizes the importance of adopting a new identity that aligns with your goals. When you identify as someone who embodies the desired behavior, it becomes more natural to act in line with that identity consistently.
3- Habits Over Willpower: Instead of relying solely on willpower, the book promotes creating habits that support your goals. Building routines and habits take the strain off your willpower, making it easier to maintain consistency.
4- **Accountability and Social Support: The book highlights the significance of accountability and support from others. Sharing your goals with others and seeking out like-minded individuals can encourage and help you stay on track. Accountability also comes with investing in yourself, as the act of investing in yourself changes you. The lesson means a lot more when you have skin in the game. (My favorite lesson in this book as it has inspired me to pay for those courses and coaching I have been delaying.)
Remember, these are just a few of the many insights from the book. If you're interested in learning more, consider reading it to better understand how to achieve your goals effectively.
